New DemoSat rover in progress

The University of Northern Colorado Space Grant Team is working on a new rover for this year's DemoSet contest. You may recall seeing an article about their first rover on our website. This new rover features an aluminum frame with parts cut by Big Blue Saw. Casey Kuhns posted some photos of the work in progress over on flickr.

Your R&D = Tax Credit

Many of Big Blue Saw's customers are small businesses developing new products to sell to customers. Many of them are not aware that the US federal government offers a tax credit for research and development of new products. Now, I'm not a tax expert, but it appears that this tax credit is worth looking into. It means filling out IRS form 6765 with your tax return.

Many states, including Georgia, also offer a similar tax credit.

So, if you use Big Blue Saw for R&D, consult your tax expert about ways to save on your business taxes.

Added aluminum stock

Aluminum seems to be a popular material, so we've added a few new aluminum 6061 stock thicknesses. There is now 6061 aluminum from 0.025 inches all the way up to 1 inch thick.

Google Checkout

Google Checkout has been available as an option for a while. I didn't want to announce it until I had the press release ready.

It has a couple advantages for you, the customer. Some of you have told us that you don't trust PayPal. Others would like all of their online shopping information stored in one place.

Google Checkout is a good deal for us and for our customers. We'll still continue to support our existing shopping cart and credit card/eCheck payments via PayPal.
