Hi,
My name is Erik as I listed above. I am a new robot builder who is
interested in the Mech Warfare games. I am sure you have heard of it since I
got your website off of the Mech Warfare creators forum (trossenrobotics.com).
I am looking to get a bunch of pieces cut by your service in the near future.
Andrew Alter has been helping me get stuff together, and it is really coming
along nicely. I was reading a lot of the FAQs on your site, but just wanted to
get a little more info on what material most people use if they get something
cut for building parts for smaller sized robots. I like the aluminum for the
fact it can be bent and shaped (do you do bending by the way?). But I also like
the plastic because of its light weight, and the legs of my robot are already
done in plastic, and was thinking I would just keep it the same look. Well if
you can, give me some info back, if you can't reply to any of this, its good to

Hi Erik,

If you're just starting out with robotics, but need durability, I
suggest using one of the plastic materials like acetal or UHMW. They're a lot
more forgiving than metal.

We can do bending as a special order. E-mail
info@bigbluesaw.com for details.
